Economic Development

As your representative, it is among my responsibilities to create long-term plan that protects your PFD. We need to be innovative and work towards an economy that can be sustained long into the future while practicing fiscal responsibility. I will work to create opportunity for all Alaskans. Everyone should have opportunities, not just those born to privilege.

"As a blue-collar guy, my paycheck depends on a healthy economy. In her first term, Tarr was able to cross party lines to develop our economy, and advocate for the education and protection of Alaska's children. Geran is getting things done in Juneau. As our representative, she opposed harmful cuts to education, fought to move the gasline forward, and opposed the new LIO building and other projects we can't afford." —Frank McGuire, Russian Jack

Economic diversification

Alaska’s economy must be diversified, and our vast lands offer unlimited potential to do so. Alaska’s world class fishing, hiking, hunting, and biking (and more!) position the state to be a leader in the outdoor recreation economy, which is growing faster than any other sector. Increasing Alaska Grown will also empower Alaskan small businesses to access multi-billion dollar opportunities.

Jobs & Workforce Development

I’ve been active in workforce development for over a decade and understand that we need to provide opportunities to ensure Alaskans are ready for the jobs of the future including health care and building the natural gas pipeline. This is why I am committed to supporting education and vocational training.

Budget Discipline

It is important for our future generations of Alaskans that we practice fiscal responsibility, invest, and save for the future. As your representative, it is among my responsibilities to create long-term plan that protects your PFD.
